Device Templates

Device templates speed up configuration by pre-defining tag lists for common equipment models.

What is a Template?

A template contains pre-configured: - Tag groups with optimal poll rates - Tags with correct addresses and data types - Scaling factors and engineering units - Modbus register mappings

Built-in Templates: - VFDs: ABB, Danfoss, Yaskawa, Schneider - PLCs: Allen-Bradley, Siemens - Power Meters: Various manufacturers - Custom templates you create

Using a Template

Device tag template configuration

1. When creating a device, select Use Template
2. Choose template from list
3. Gateway creates all tags automatically
4. Customize if needed

Creating Custom Templates

1. Configure a device completely
2. Navigate to Templates → Create from Device
3. Select source device
4. Enter template name and description
5. Click Create

Importing Templates

Import templates from JSON files: 1. Click Import Template 2. Select JSON file 3. Review template 4. Click Import

Exporting Templates

Share templates with others: 1. Select template 2. Click Export 3. Save JSON file 4. Share file
